The main project works comprised of a new single storey glazed entrance link between existing buildings including external ramp and handrails. Internal remodelling of the main building to form laboratory designated spaces and offices. Installation of heating, cooling and air handling equipment within weatherproof self-contained enclosures. External and internal insulated supply and extract ductwork. Full electrical re-wiring to suit new internal layouts and extension. Security installations including access control. CCTV, fire and intruder alarms.
- Specialist laser systems for forensic analysis
- Removal of existing and installation of new generator and UPS installation
- BT alterations
- Complex M&E installations including ventilation, BMS panels / controls and installation of new AHU and associated external plant.
This was an extremely challenging contract with a duration of only 14 weeks in a tight site area.
Many challenges were encountered throughout the project but overcome by a combination of good management, planning and the co-operation of the subcontractors. The scheme was delivered on time and within budget, much to the satisfaction of the client and we were awarded a further £8.2m contact at Southend Police Station.Download PDF
