ZSL London Zoo
The project comprised the strip out of the old second floor laboratory area and the formation of five new high specification laboratories. We retained live services to the occupied areas whilst removing internal brick walls and lead walls from the former X-ray department.
New internal partitions were formed and lined with anti-bacterial coatings and the walls laminated. The floors were resin bonded. Bespoke German manufactured laboratory furniture was installed together with specialist Swedish air handling units, craned and installed externally on the roof. These provided comfort cooling air units to each individual work unit, inclusive of positive pressure to the RNA and DNA laboratories.
New passive infrared lighting, alarms and an electronic door control system provided the necessary controls, whilst eye wash stations adjacent to each work bench and hygienic coatings to all exposed areas help safeguard occupants. Additionally, we refurbished the east stairwell from ground to second floor.
This was a tightly scheduled 12 week programme, with unknown structural aspects, however Logan completed in 11 weeks, much to the clients delight.Download PDF

I will take this opportunity to say how impressed we have all been with your team. They have been helpful, efficient, and courteous, done their best to cause the minimum of disruption, and all round been excellent ambassadors for your firm and the construction industry. We'd certainly like to work with Logan again, and hopefully will have a chance to in the not too distant future.
