Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust

Winter Pressures

This contract was secured on a two stage basis to assist with the very tight delivery timescales. Work commenced on site, prior to design stage, with the strip out of one of the six wards designated for complete refurbishment.

We quickly progressed with the preparation works in conjunction with working up the required specification with the design team and the Trust. Working as a team we were able to identify potential issues and manage these aspects accordingly.

Works included new ceilings, walls, floors, new M&E and associated systems. With a carefully planed phase of works, we were able to ensure that lose of bed capacity was keep to a minimum.

By utilising shifts we maximised available working time. For example the 1000m² Stroke ward was completely refurbished in 8.5 weeks with up to 70 operatives on site in any one day.

The programme of works was successfully delivered on time, to the delight of the client.
